In 2019, we celebrated Arbor Day – September 21 – by planting seedlings. Did you know that growing trees consume a much larger amount of carbon than an already mature tree? Therefore, planting new trees contributes considerably to CO2 absorption from the atmosphere. Each hectare of planted forest removes on average 175 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere and each hectare of land holds on average 1600 tree seedlings, varying according to species. Around our operating units we also maintain emission and air quality control. We meet and positively surpass the standards regulated by SEMA N°016/14 and Ordinance 001/2008/IAP/GP.
